Victory Instead of Defeat

This post is a bit different from my usual, but I felt it was something worth sharing.  These days are uncertain to say the least - hoping this brings some peace to your soul as it did mine.

During my quiet time recently, I came upon I Thessalonians 5. At first I wasn't sure what God was trying to say to me, but the more I read it and let it process in my heart I began to understand.  I have a prayer journal that I often write prayers in that allow me to truly speak my heart and receive wisdom from God. This is the prayer that came after reading I Thessalonians:

 Dear Lord,

In these times of uncertainty, I am acutely aware that you are preparing us for your return to this earth.  I know that I will not expect it - you will come quietly, but I don't need to be afraid.  I am your child and the darkness is not where I belong.  I know that each day I should be putting your faith and love in my heart and your hope in my mind, because I have salvation through you! You are with me in the dark times as in the light of day.  I will encourage those around me as you have encouraged me.  I will live in peace with those around me, despite our differences.  Most of all, I promise to pray continually and give thanks in everything, because this is what you desire of me! Your words Lord bring me peace.  Thank you for reminding me of your ways.

Praying, Praising and Pondering as we Count on Victory Instead of Defeat!
